Updates.. finally!

Well, finally, some updates! I've started them several times but never quite got around to finishing one! Ansel's gotten very busy this past month! He's fast, and crawling up and down large steps even.
He only weighed 17 lbs. 8oz. during the last shot he got a couple of weeks ago. . . he's eating good though (even off of a spoon.. finally!! Finger foods are still his favorite though) He still dislikes sippy cups, but he does really well with his straw cup. Maybe he'll have a little growth spurt before too long and hit 20 lbs so we can turn his car seat around! I imagine he'll like that better.

It's a fun, but busy age. The movies are rarely on the shelf any more, and he will find pretty much anything there is to get into and scatter (or "eat") Yep, the busy, curious stage keeps mommy very busy as well!
He also has such a variety of sounds and usually has a lot to say!
His top two middle teeth are starting to get pretty big... I can see why he complained so much about them!

We had a beautiful week of weather.. FINALLY. It's been below freezing for so long here that the 50's to almost 70's were very exciting! We got to go on walks everyday which is great because Ansel loves being outside, (not to mention he gets in a good morning nap that way!)

Ansel became interested in my ipod. We have some of his baby/kids music on there, and he got excited to hear it coming from the ear pieces.

He also has fun playing in the ball pit in the kid's playroom at Grandpa and Grandma Sneddon's!

He even got one piece of Valentine's Day candy, which he devoured (although it didn't stay down long)

Itsy Bitsy Spider Video

Photobucket Album

Itsy Bitsy Spider

Ansel started the cutest thing the other day. He gets mad having to lay down on the changing table.. now that he's such a mover... so we began singing while he's there to try to distract him. We usually do the itsy bitsy spider (the first time with actions, then I keep singing it until we're done!)
Monday when I laid him down on the table, he put his hands together, ready for the song! He'll usually stop during the middle two lines, then put his hands back together for the final line, when the spider returns! (His spider consists of holding his left hand still while his right hand pats it, and occasionally even turns his wrist a little)
We kind of got it on video, although he stopped as soon as he realized he was being taped! Sorry... I couldn't figure out how to rotate the video... I'll change it if I get it figured out.

Tool time

Daddy got some new tools... Ansel thought he should check them out.

hmm.. wonder how you use this one?
ha.. figured it out!

My chair

I got a cute new chair from Grandpa Miller. (I flashed him a pretty cute smile when I was trying it out)

It's great to cuddle in when I watch my shows....

. . . or to hide behind. . .

. . . and to tip over!

Loving bath time!

Ansel LOVES bathtime. He even laughs when the shower sprays over him.

It is getting harder to control him. He crawls off or, as seen in this picture, bends over and tries to drink or blow bubbles in the water.

That splash was bigger than I expected!

Hiding in my toy basket

Past bedtime?

(Speaking of bedtime, there've been multiple night awakenings lately! Possibly due to more teething? The two top middle ones are coming in. You can see them, but can't quite feel them yet as the gums are so swollen around them. )

On the move!

Ansel's been crawling the past couple of weeks and is getting faster each day. He still seems to prefer being up on his feet and is also a pretty good cruiser, "walking" from one chair or piece of furniture to another. Of course this mobility comes with risks, as you can probably see the bruise under his eye in this crawling picture :( He's also been sick with a cold, surprisingly the first time he's been sick after his bout with the flu way back in the NICU days.

He's still right at 17 lbs, one month later... probably due to the constant activity this past month! The holidays were fun; we got to spend time with both sides of the family, and even spent some time visiting my sister Stacey and her family in Tulsa. Definitely a change from last year! This week has been crazy weather wise. With the ice storm, we were lucky and only lost power for 5-7 hours or so. Springfield got hit much harder, with cable lines and trees down all over the place! My parents place has been out of electricity for over 3 days now, and due to the massive power outage will possibly even be out the rest of the week. We drove over today to take some more stuff to them, (Mom has to stay for work) but we brought my Grandma back with us. They were pretty positive about the situation and luckily have a fireplace downstairs atleast, but it was COLD and I'll be very happy for them when they get their power back!!!
Twinkle, Twinkle, little star, how I wonder how tasty you are!

Christmas morning... time to empty stockings!

Aunt Rachel helps me open presents!

Slot machines can apparently be addicting at any age!

Eden, who now lives in Arizona, even made it for Christmas!

Ha ha... found the chocolate stash!!!
